A Vision for Safer, More Connected Communities

Safer, more connected communities begin in the nervous systems of the adults who care for children.

You cannot co-regulate a child from a dysregulated body. The training, the strategy, the framework, can not work when the adult delivering them is depleted. This is the gap that ends careers in care, and leaves children without the consistent adults they most need.

Inner Resonance Global supports children, and the adults who care for them; in schools, out-of-home and residential care, community and humanitarian organisations. The work is grounded in a decade of practice, an independently evaluated program, and ongoing doctoral research at the Queensland Brain Institute.

BREAKING

THE

CYCLE

Every part of the practice begins and ends with the children whose nervous systems have been shaped by experiences that no child or carer should have to carry alone; the children in classrooms, in care, in family systems and humanitarian services. They are the reason this work exists. The decisions about what to teach, what to research and what to create, are all made with the children and their caregivers front of mind.

About Michelle

Michelle Black is a senior consultant, registered clinical counsellor, and PhD Candidate at the Queensland Brain Institute, The University of Queensland, where her research examines the autonomic nervous system through a polyvagal lens for children and adolescents with Down syndrome.

For the past decade she has worked across the full system that surrounds a child; the child, the caregivers, and the organisation; guiding teams through practice and leadership of care frameworks that make consistent, regulated care possible. Before this work, she spent over twenty years in executive leadership across the corporate and education sectors, an experience that shapes how she partners with organisations today: clinically grounded, fluent in strategic and operational reality.

When a felt sense of presence, safety, calm, and aliveness occurs, the effects ripple outward, strengthening capacity, relationships and safer communities.

If your team is running on empty and you're losing talented people

You have probably watched it happen more than once. A good worker, a strong teacher, a steady carer, someone the children depended on walks away because the work was costing them more than they could keep paying. The children pay for that loss, every time.

Building the capacity that holds people in the work and holds the children they care for is what the conversation is about.

Starting with your needs, goals and the options explored together. If your team is exhausted and your turnover is rising, the conversation starts here.
